Our History

Tofaute & Spelman is a law firm that was founded in Indiana in 1970. Over the years, it has grown in the personal injury legal field. Today it is comprised of personal injury lawyers, a growing number of paralegals and many "support staff specialists."

Each person is a part of a team whose purpose is to provide our clients with the best possible legal services. We do this in a manner which we think is somewhat unique. We can serve our clients from our mobile law office, or from the environment of our original 1890's building; or from our several "high tech" equipped offices in the Midwest. We operate on a group concept --- our professionals work in teams that regularly meet to review all pending cases in our professional "round table sessions."

We have joined together a group of people who give only their best to each of our client's problems. Each client's needs are special, and we at Tofaute & Spelman keep this in mind. The firm has worked for injured persons, their families and survivors for many years, and can provide the experience to handle a variety of personal injury matters.

Our attorneys hold memberships in various professional organizations, including, local bar associations, State bar associations, State trial lawyers associations, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the United States Supreme Court Bar and the American Bar Association.
